Real Estate Agent resume examples

A recruiting broker checks three things first: which state license you hold, which brokerage sponsors it, and what you've closed. Alongside the residential agent below, you'll find a newly licensed former teacher, a luxury listing agent, a team buyer's agent and a broker who owns her office.

Five years, 26 sides and a move to a new brokerage

Araceli Betancourt is a Texas sales agent with five years at one Austin brokerage, and she's applying to another. Her resume opens with the record a recruiting broker asks about: 26 closed sides in 2025, the buyer and seller split, a $452,000 median price and the share of business that came from referrals.

Her license line uses TREC's exact name, and her REALTOR membership sits in credentials, not in her title. The mortgage processing job is there because it explains why her contracts close on time.

Pick the example whose record looks most like yours. A new agent leans on prospecting and a prior career, a luxury agent on price tier and marketing, a team agent on lead conversion, and a broker on running the office.

Real Estate Sales Associate

New real estate agent with three closings and a teaching career

Rafael Benavente got his Florida sales associate license in March 2026 and has only three closings, so the resume leads with his sphere of about 400 Orlando contacts, his daily prospecting calls and his bilingual open houses. Eight years of teaching follow, rewritten as parent conferences and a personal finance unit. Use it if you're newly licensed, changing careers, or started part time before going full time.

  • Sales associate license from DBPR, issued March 2026
  • Part-time start and full-time date in the first bullet
  • Parent conferences held in Spanish as client evidence
Luxury Real Estate Agent

Luxury agent selling homes between $2 million and $8 million

Noor Sabbagh's resume trades volume for price tier: 11 or 12 sides a year, $61 million in 2025 volume, and listings between $2 million and $8 million in named Westside and Hollywood Hills neighborhoods. Her bullets describe the launch team behind each listing and where her referrals come from. Use it if you sell high-end homes, came from hospitality or another luxury service field, or hold a California salesperson license.

  • Price tier and annual volume in the summary
  • Staging, photography and video vendors in one bullet
  • Hotel group sales kept as the prior career
Buyer's Agent

Team buyer's agent judged on lead conversion

Owen Truong works inbound leads on a six-agent Dallas team, so his numbers are a conversion rate against the team average, his response time and 40 buyer closings marked as team-credited. He also runs the team's CRM. Use it if your leads come from a team lead or brokerage, if your closings are recorded under a team name, or if you're moving from car sales or another lead-driven job.

  • 4.1% lead conversion against a 2.8% team average
  • Team name and brokerage both in the job line
  • CRM routing rules and drip campaigns he manages
Real Estate Broker

Real estate broker who owns an 11-agent office

Gwendolyn Tetteh holds a Florida broker license and owns an independent brokerage, so her resume reads as an office record: agent count, office volume, transaction file review, escrow reconciliation and advertising approval. Her own listings appear as a separate line. Use it if you run or manage a brokerage, are applying for a managing broker role, or need to show the sales associate years that qualified you.

  • Office production listed apart from her own listings
  • Compliance work named: files, escrow and advertising
  • Seven dated sales associate years and the 72-hour broker course

List the license by your state's exact name

Use the license name and agency your state prints on the license, then name the brokerage that sponsors it. A recruiting broker has to file your sponsorship, so a vague "licensed real estate professional" makes extra work for them.

Put the license in credentials as name, agency and year, such as "Real Estate Sales Agent License, Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), active since 2021". Your headline can still say Real Estate Agent.

In each job line, name the brokerage your license is held with, not just "self-employed". Agents are usually independent contractors, but a broker supervises every sales license, and that broker is the reference the next one will call.

If you hold licenses in two states, list both and put the one for the job's state first. Washington-area teams, for example, ask for an active DC, Virginia or Maryland license. Other states use other names again: a New Jersey brokerage ad calls the role sales associate and asks for a salesperson license.

REALTOR is a membership, not a job title

You can use REALTOR on your resume only if you're a member of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), and only while that membership lasts. The word is a registered membership mark, so not every licensed agent is a REALTOR, and the broker reading your resume knows the difference.

Keep your job title as Real Estate Agent, or as your state's license name such as Sales Associate. Put the membership in credentials: "REALTOR Member, National Association of REALTORS (NAR), 2021". If you've finished the NAR Code of Ethics training for the current three-year cycle, add the year, as the Austin example does.

In a summary, "REALTOR member" after your license works. "Experienced Realtor" as a headline doesn't, because NAR bars members from pairing the mark with descriptive words, and no REALTOR line belongs on a resume for someone who never joined.

If your membership lapsed when you changed brokerages or paused your license, take the word off your resume and your LinkedIn headline until you rejoin. Every example on this page works for a member: add the membership line to credentials and leave the title alone.

Count closed sides, price points and where your clients came from

Show production as closed sides for a named year, with the buyer and seller split, the median price or price range, and the lead source. Brokers recruit agents who bring business, and these numbers tell them how much and from where.

A side is one party you represented in one closed sale. Count closings, not pending contracts or listings taken, and put the year next to each figure: "Closed 26 sides in 2025".

Listing agents can add a list-to-sale price ratio and how many of their listings sold. Team agents should mark closings as team-credited and give a lead conversion rate against the team average, because the team lead paid for those leads.

Give each brokerage its own entry with dates and put the volume you closed there under it. Use the same measures in every entry, so a broker can compare one year with the next.

Specific

Closed 26 sides in 2025 (14 buyer, 12 seller) at a $452,000 median price, with 62% of closings from past clients and sphere referrals.

Vague

Top-producing agent with a proven track record of helping families buy and sell homes across Austin.

With no closings yet, show prospecting and the people you can reach

A first real estate resume is judged on whether you'll find clients, because brokerages hire newly licensed agents and sometimes people who haven't taken the exam yet. Put your license status near the top, then the evidence that you can bring in business.

State the license date, or the course and exam date if you're still in prelicensing. Write "Florida sales associate license, March 2026" or "Completing 63-hour prelicensing course, exam scheduled November 2026".

Count your network and your activity. Give the number of contacts in your CRM, the prospecting calls you make a day and the open houses you've hosted. A line like "Makes 40 prospecting calls a day to sphere contacts and company leads" shows a broker you'll do the work their ad describes.

Rewrite your last career in terms of clients. A teacher has parent conferences and community fundraisers, a server has regulars, and a car or retail sales job has monthly units and internet lead follow-up. Keep two to four bullets per old job that show follow-up, explaining paperwork or selling.

List your languages and when you can work. Showings and open houses run on evenings and weekends, so "available evenings and weekends" is useful to a broker, and a second language widens the buyers you can serve.

A broker resume reads like an office's record

Once you hold a broker license, the resume shifts from your own sales to the business you run or could run: the agents you supervise, the files you review and the money you hold in escrow. Lead with the broker license, the state agency and the year.

Show the qualifying years. Florida requires 24 months as an active sales associate in the five years before the broker license, Texas four active years in five plus education hours, and California two full-time years in five. Dated sales associate or sales agent entries show you met the rule.

Separate the office numbers from the compliance work. Give agent count, office sides and volume, and how many agents stay, then write what you check: transaction files before closing, escrow deposits and monthly reconciliation, and agent advertising. "Reviews every transaction file before closing" is broker work. "Managed a sales team to quota" reads like a sales manager.

Give your own listings their own bullet and numbers, so a firm hiring a managing broker can see whether you'll keep selling. If you're applying to manage another firm's office, put agent recruiting and training results near the top.
